NGO jobs: where to look and how to apply

NGO jobs are posted on each organisation's own careers page, on sector job boards and, for the UN system, on agency portals. Read the contract type and funding line first, then follow the listing's own application route. Zorlya reads a United Kingdom charity board and a UN vacancies feed, lists employers in a directory, and has no NGO filter.

How Zorlya scores a job

Every job gets a score from 0 to 100, built from four parts, and a fifth when the posting states a seniority level. Resume fit, skills match, salary fit and location fit are scored separately, weighted, and combined, and a part with nothing to measure is left out instead of counted as average.

Where the jobs come from: 130+ sources

Zorlya reads public job boards and applicant tracking systems, the software employers post their own openings on. Every source is one that permits automated reading. LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor and more than 20 other sites were checked and left out, each for a recorded reason.

Applying for a job outside your country

Before you apply abroad, find out four things from the posting or the employer: whether you may legally work there, whether the employer helps with that, which documents the country expects, and what the pay is worth after local tax and costs. Rules differ by country and by case, so confirm each one with an official source.

Jobs in Zambia: where employers post, how to apply

Jobs in Zambia are posted on national job boards and on the careers pages of banks, universities, regulators, NGOs and other employers. Read the advert for the closing date, the contact and the documents, then apply as it says. Zorlya reads two Zambian boards and lists Zambian employers, and it has no Zambian rules beyond the advert.

Government and public-sector applications

Public-sector jobs are usually scored against published criteria, so your application is read against a checklist. Answer every criterion with a specific example, follow the form exactly, and allow weeks or months for a result. Rules on who may apply differ by country and by employer, so read the official notice for your case.

University jobs: academic and professional staff

University jobs fall into three groups: academic and research posts, professional and support staff roles, and studentships. Each group has its own ad style, its own documents and its own process. Work out which group a role belongs to before you write anything, then follow the ad's instructions exactly.

How to get a job in a bank: the main routes

Most people get into a bank through a graduate or early careers programme, an exam-based intake such as State Bank of India's, or a vacancy posted for experienced staff. Graduate programmes test before they interview, and central banks add nationality rules and security vetting. Read the eligibility lines first, then prepare for the tests the bank names.

Ashby jobs: how to read a role on an Ashby board

Ashby jobs are openings an employer posts through Ashby, the hiring software it uses, and you find them on that employer's own Ashby job board. Start at the company's careers page and read the role there. Zorlya has an Ashby reader. It returned no jobs on 24 October 2026, and a fix for its failing runs went into the code the next day.

Salary on a posting, and when it is missing

Read a posted salary as a range with four labels, which are what is included, the period, the currency and whether it is before tax. When no figure is posted, look for a pay grade, then ask for the range politely before you invest time in an interview.

How to decide between two offers, or staying

Write down six to eight things that matter to you, give each a weight of 1 to 3, score each option from 1 to 5, and compare the totals. Treat the result as a way to see your own priorities, not as an answer. A gap under about 10 percent of the maximum means the decision is close, and the questions you still have are what should decide it.

How to prepare for a recruiter call in 30 minutes

Spend ten minutes on the company and the posting, ten on a 60-second pitch and your salary answer, and ten on five questions of your own. On pay, say what you know honestly, ask for the range before you give a number, and give a range of your own if you must, with the floor you can accept at the bottom.

Some employers never post on a job board. They hire through their own website, through networks, or through a system that no aggregator reads. If an employer you want is missing, go to its own careers page, look for sector sources, and ask for it to be added.
