Workday jobs are openings that an employer lists on a career site run by the Workday software. The address has myworkdayjobs.com in it, for example a company name, a code such as wd5, and a site name. You search the employer’s site, open a posting, and apply there. The application usually asks you to sign in or create an account for that employer.

Workday is an applicant tracking system, or ATS: the software an employer uses to post openings and collect applications. Its application flow is longer than most, which is why work gets lost. This post explains how to recognise a Workday site, search it, and apply without losing your answers, and what Zorlya does with Workday.

How do I recognise a Workday career site?

Look at the address. A Workday career site commonly has the form company.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/site-name. The “wd5” part is a server number and varies by employer, so you may see wd1, wd3 or another number. The last part is the name of the site, and a company can have more than one, such as one for experienced hires and one for students.

A posting adds a path that includes the location and the job title, ending in the requisition ID. In the recorded sample our reader was tested against, the path ended in a code like R24950. Employers sometimes embed their Workday site in their own domain, so the address bar may not show myworkdayjobs at all. Follow the Apply link to check.

How do I search Workday jobs on a career site?

Use the search box and the filters on the employer’s site, and work through the results in pages. The steps below suit most sites, though each employer chooses its filters.

  1. Open the employer’s Careers page and follow the link to its Workday site.
  2. Type a job title or a skill in the search box. Shorter phrases tend to return more.
  3. Narrow by location, job category or work type if the site offers those filters.
  4. Open each fitting posting and read the full text.
  5. Write down the requisition ID, the title and the link in a note.
  6. Repeat with a second search phrase, because titles vary between teams.

The list is paged, and the sample we read returned 20 postings at a time. If a search shows a total count, scroll through the pages and do not stop at the first.

What do the list entries mean?

Three parts of a list entry deserve a closer look.

“Posted 6 Days Ago”. The list shows a relative age and not a date. That makes it hard to tell exactly when a role was posted. Open the posting for more detail, and read why a job’s posted date is unreliable.

“2 Locations”. A role listed under several places shows only a count in the list. Open the posting to see all of them. Requirements and pay can differ by country, so check the one you would work in.

The requisition ID. It is the employer’s reference for the role. Quote it in every note and in any email about the application, since titles repeat across teams.

How does a Workday application work, and how do I avoid losing my work?

Most Workday applications run through several screens: sign in or create an account, upload a resume, confirm details, answer questions, and review. In our understanding, many employers also use a resume upload to fill the form for you, and the filled fields are often wrong, so check each one. The exact steps are the employer’s choice.

Because the flow is long, protect your work.

  • Prepare everything first. Write answers to open questions in a separate document and paste them in. A session that times out or a closed tab then costs you nothing.
  • Have your facts to hand. Keep a plain list of your job titles, employers and dates, as you want them written, so you can enter them quickly and consistently.
  • Use a plain resume file. A single-column file in a standard type is the safest (what an applicant tracking system does with your resume).
  • Keep the account details. Employers often ask you to make a separate account, so a password manager saves a lot of trouble. Note which email you used.
  • Save the posting. The text can disappear once the role closes. Copy it into your notes before you apply.
  • Keep the confirmation. After you submit, save the confirmation message and the requisition ID. Then log the application (track applications so follow-ups happen).

Check also that a saved draft, if the site offers one, really saves. Do not rely on it for a long answer until you have seen it work.

Which quirks should I know?

  • One account per employer. In many cases an account on one employer’s Workday site does not carry to another’s. We cannot say this holds for every employer.
  • Long forms, repeated data. Some forms ask for each job and each degree again in separate fields, even after a resume upload.
  • Several sites per company. If a search finds nothing, look for a second career site, such as one for a region or a subsidiary.

Does Zorlya read Workday jobs?

Only in part. Zorlya has a Workday reader, and its list of sources has it switched on. On 22 October 2026 it held Workday jobs, but most of its runs that week had failed before they finished. A fix for those runs went into the code on 25 October 2026. Until runs succeed again, a Workday role will not reliably appear in a Zorlya feed. Zorlya does read Lever and Workable, and many public boards (where the jobs come from).

If you find a Workday role yourself, the Add a job button saves it to your account: paste the link, and paste the full text too, since a link on its own gives Zorlya only the title, employer, place and date (add a job from any site). A score and a cover letter are built from the text.

Questions people ask

Do I have to create an account to apply on Workday?

In many cases, yes: the employer’s site asks you to sign in or create an account before you submit. Some employers may allow an application without one. The first screen of the application will show which applies.

Can I search all Workday jobs in one place?

There is no single search across all employers that we know of and can recommend. Each employer has its own site, so you search company by company. A tool that reads many career sites can help, if it covers the employers you want.

Why does my application disappear if I leave the page?

A session can end, or a draft may not have been saved. Prepare your answers outside the form and keep the posting text, so you can start again without loss.

Is a Workday posting the original?

Usually it is the employer’s own page, which is why it is the one to apply through. Copies on other sites may be shorter or older.

What we know and what we do not

Zorlya has a Workday reader, switched on in its list of sources. Most of its runs failed in October 2026, and a fix went into the code on 25 October 2026, so only some Workday roles reach the feed. It does read Lever and Workable. The address pattern and list fields in this post come from a recorded sample and the reader’s design, not from Workday’s documentation. How an individual employer sets up its application flow, and what happens to a resume after you submit, we cannot see.
