ATS resume checker: what it checks and misses

An ATS resume checker compares your resume with a job posting or with formatting rules and reports what it finds. It can show missing keywords and layout problems, but it cannot show how an employer's own system will rank you.

UN jobs: how hiring works and where roles post

UN jobs are posted by each organisation in the UN system on its own careers portal, and you apply through that portal. Aggregator sites copy the ads, so confirm every closing date on the official page. Zorlya reads a feed of UN agency vacancies kept by a third-party site, which links each ad to the agency's page, and has no UN-specific filter.

NGO and nonprofit applications: how they differ

Nonprofit and NGO applications usually ask for more writing, more evidence of why you want this cause, and more patience with the process. Many roles are funded for a fixed term, pay bands are often set in advance, and references and checks are common. Read the posting for those signals, and answer each question in the form instead of sending a general letter.

Applying for a job outside your country

Before you apply abroad, find out four things from the posting or the employer: whether you may legally work there, whether the employer helps with that, which documents the country expects, and what the pay is worth after local tax and costs. Rules differ by country and by case, so confirm each one with an official source.

How to read an application deadline

Treat a stated deadline as the last moment the employer's system accepts you, in the employer's time zone, and apply at least a day early. When a posting has no deadline, assume it can close at any time and apply within a few days, then check the employer's own page to see whether it is still open.

Why a job's posted date is unreliable

The date on a card is whatever the source reported, and sources mean different things by it, so treat it as a hint. Some give the day an ad was first published, some the day it was last edited, and a few give nothing, in which case Zorlya's date window for matching uses the day it first saw the posting.

Applying in several countries at once

Add four country facts to your tracker (right to work, language, document style and time zone), keep one master resume with a small number of country versions, and put every deadline in one calendar with its time zone. The extra columns stop a multi-country search from turning into confusion.

Interviewing with an international organisation

Read the vacancy notice for the stages it lists, prepare six real examples that show the competencies it names, and learn the organisation's mandate from its own publications. Expect a panel, possibly a written test, and a slow process. Check each detail with the organisation itself.

Install Zorlya as an app on your phone or computer

Zorlya installs from the browser, with no app store. On Android and desktop Chrome use the install offer, on an iPhone use Share, then Add to Home Screen. Offline the app opens and says it is offline, but your jobs and applications still need a connection.
