Sign in with GitHub, and connect or disconnect it

Use Continue with GitHub to sign in, connect GitHub to an existing account under Settings, or disconnect it again without losing access.

You can sign in to Zorlya with GitHub in two ways: select Continue with GitHub on the sign in page, or connect GitHub to an account you already have under Settings, Sign in and security. A connected account can be disconnected at any time, as long as another way to sign in remains.

Sign in or sign up with GitHub

  1. Open the sign in page, or the sign up page.
  2. Select Continue with GitHub and approve Zorlya on GitHub.
  3. You return to Zorlya, signed in.

Zorlya uses the primary, verified email address on your GitHub account. A GitHub noreply address is not accepted. If you are new, the account opens as with any other sign up: GitHub confirms the address, so there is no code to enter.

If a Zorlya account already uses that email, Zorlya asks you to prove it is yours. Type your Zorlya password or select Use a passkey, then select Link account. Nothing is linked until you do. You get three tries.

Connect GitHub to your account

  1. Sign in and open Settings, then Sign in and security.
  2. Under Connected accounts, select Connect GitHub.
  3. Type Your password or select Use a passkey.
  4. Select Continue to GitHub and approve Zorlya on GitHub.
  5. You return to the same page, which shows your GitHub login and the date you connected.

We email you when a sign in account is connected or removed. If you did not do it, use the link in that email.

Disconnect GitHub

  1. Open Settings, then Sign in and security.
  2. Under Connected accounts, select Disconnect next to GitHub.
  3. Confirm with your password or a passkey and select Disconnect GitHub.

Disconnecting stops you signing in with GitHub. It does not delete your account, your profile or the skills already added from GitHub.

Use your public GitHub activity

After you connect GitHub, open Profile, then Sync. Select Use my public GitHub activity to add skills from your public repositories. Zorlya reads only public repositories, only when you ask, and never private ones. Select Turn off to stop. Skills already added stay.

If it fails

  • Sign-in did not finish. The page gives a reason. “Cancelled” means you declined on GitHub. “Took too long” means the page was open in another browser or cookies are blocked. Start again from the button.
  • GitHub did not confirm your email. Add and verify a primary email on GitHub, then try again.
  • That is your only way to sign in. Add a password or a passkey first, then disconnect. To set a password, use Forgot password on the sign in page.
  • No Connect GitHub button. The Connected accounts card lists only providers that are switched on, and only for job seeker accounts.
  • Too many accounts. An account holds at most 5 connected sign in accounts. Disconnect one first.
