Add LinkedIn, GitHub and other profile links

Add typed profile links on the Edit tab of your profile, with the address each field accepts and what to do when a link is refused.

Add your profile links on Profile, then Edit, under Profiles and Links. LinkedIn, GitHub, WordPress.org and Facebook each have their own field and take an address from that site only. Portfolio links and other links are lists. Every link must start with https or be a plain domain.

  1. Open Profile in the sidebar, then the Edit tab.
  2. Under Profiles, fill in the fields you want:
    • LinkedIn: an address on linkedin.com, such as linkedin.com/in/you.
    • GitHub: your profile address, such as github.com/you. It must be one name and nothing after it.
    • WordPress.org: profiles.wordpress.org/you.
    • Facebook: an address on facebook.com or fb.com.
  3. Under Links, type an address and select Add portfolio link or Add other link. Each list holds up to 20 links.
  4. Select Save changes. The page confirms with “Profile saved”.

To remove a link, clear its field, or select the remove button next to it in a list, then save.

What the GitHub and WordPress.org fields also do

The GitHub address also sets the GitHub username used to read your skills. The WordPress.org address does the same for your WordPress.org username. If you have connected GitHub under Settings, Zorlya reads that login instead. Sign in with GitHub, and connect or disconnect it has the steps.

  • “Use an https address.” Links that start with http are not accepted.
  • “Use a linkedin.com address.” A field takes only its own site. Put a personal site in the portfolio list.
  • “That is not a web address.” Add a domain, like example.com/you.
  • “That link is already here.” The list holds each link once.
  • “Use 500 characters or fewer.” Shorten the link. Zorlya removes tracking parameters when it saves.
