Guides / Connect an AI client

Connect Claude on the web and Claude Desktop

Add Zorlya to Claude as a custom connector with the URL https://mcp.zorlya.com, sign in with OAuth, and ask Claude about your matches.

To connect Claude on the web or Claude Desktop to Zorlya, open Customize, then Connectors, add a custom connector with the address https://mcp.zorlya.com, and sign in on Zorlya’s Connect page. Both apps share one list of connectors, so you add it once. There is no API key.

What you need

  • A Zorlya account that has been approved. A job seeker account needs the Pro plan, because AI client access is part of Pro.
  • A Claude account on the Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. Claude’s documentation says a Free account can add one custom connector.
  • On Team or Enterprise, an Owner has to add the connector first. Members then connect with their own Zorlya account.

Add the connector

On a Free, Pro or Max plan:

  1. Go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Enter https://mcp.zorlya.com as the MCP server URL.
  4. If the dialog shows an Authentication setting, choose Sign in now. If it shows an OAuth client setting, choose Register automatically, which uses Dynamic Client Registration. Zorlya supports that method.
  5. Click Add.

On Team and Enterprise, an Owner goes to Organization settings > Connectors, selects Add, then Custom, chooses Web if asked, enters the same URL and clicks Add. Each member then opens Customize > Connectors, finds the connector with the Custom label and clicks Connect.

Claude’s documentation says the layout of the dialog varies by organization, so your screen may show a name, a URL and Advanced settings on one page. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty.

Connecting opens Zorlya’s Connect page. It names Claude and Anthropic, asks which of your Zorlya accounts Claude should use (job seeker, hiring, support or staff, and which company), and asks for a permission level. Read only is the default. Choose Read and change to let Claude use the write tools, such as saving a job. Then sign in to that account. What you approve when you connect describes every step. Read the developer page for the full list of tools.

To use the connector in a chat, click the + button, select Connectors and turn Zorlya on for that conversation.

What you should see

The connector appears under Customize > Connectors as connected, and Zorlya shows in the Connectors list in the chat + menu. Claude’s documentation says you can block single tools under Customize > Connectors by setting a tool’s permission to Blocked.

Try it

  • “Use Zorlya top_matches to show my 5 best-scoring jobs, with the score and the reason for each.”
  • “Search my Zorlya jobs for remote roles with search_jobs, then compare the two highest by how well they fit my resume.”

If it does not connect

  1. The server cannot be reached. Claude connects from Anthropic’s cloud, not from your computer, so the URL has to be public. https://mcp.zorlya.com is. Type it exactly as shown, with no path after it.
  2. Your Zorlya account is not approved. The Connect page needs an approved account. Sign in at zorlya.com first and confirm the account works. A job seeker account on Free or Plus is also refused, because AI client access needs Pro.
  3. A wrong authentication setting. Claude’s documentation says you cannot change authentication settings after you add a connector. Remove it and add it again with Sign in now and Register automatically.

If tool calls start failing with a message about waiting, you hit a per-minute limit: 120 reads or 30 changes for the account. Wait about 60 seconds.

What we checked

The steps come from Claude’s documentation, read on 2026-10-17. The connection to Zorlya was not tried in Claude. We compared the documented OAuth behavior with Zorlya’s server: Claude can register itself with Dynamic Client Registration, and Zorlya’s list has Claude’s address, https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback, so registration should succeed.

Claude Desktop’s claude_desktop_config.json is documented for local MCP servers only, so this guide does not use it.
