To connect ChatGPT to Zorlya, add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT with the address https://mcp.zorlya.com, choose OAuth, and sign in on Zorlya’s Connect page. There is no API key. We have not tried this connection, and OpenAI’s help page on developer mode could not be read, so check it before you start.
This guide is one of the least complete. OpenAI’s help page on developer mode and custom MCP servers returned an access error when we tried to read it, so the plan requirements and the developer mode switch are not confirmed here. Check that page before you start.
What you need
- A Zorlya account that has been approved. A job seeker account needs the Pro plan, because AI client access is part of Pro.
- A ChatGPT account and workspace that allow custom MCP servers. OpenAI’s documentation says account and workspace policies can restrict adding and using them. We could not confirm which plans have the feature.
Add the server
OpenAI’s connection guide describes this flow:
- Go to ChatGPT Plugins at
https://chatgpt.com/plugins. - Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name and a description.
- Under Connection, enter the server URL, which has no path:
https://mcp.zorlya.com. - Configure authentication. The page does not list the options. Choose OAuth. If ChatGPT offers a choice between a metadata document and dynamic registration, choose dynamic registration, because Zorlya does not publish a client metadata document.
- Review the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
- Select Create as a plugin, then review the tools ChatGPT discovered.
- On Zorlya’s Connect page, choose the account and the permission level (Read only is the default), then sign in with your Zorlya account. What you approve when you connect describes the steps.
To use it, install the plugin, start a new conversation, type @ in the prompt box and select the plugin. If Zorlya’s tools change, open the connection at ChatGPT Plugins, select Refresh and start a new conversation.
What you should see
ChatGPT lists the Zorlya tools it found in step 7. A job seeker account has 20 tools, 15 read and 5 write. The 5 write tools appear only if you chose Read and change, so a read-only connection shows 15. A hiring, support or staff account shows that account’s own tools.
Try it
- “@Zorlya use top_matches to show my 5 best jobs with their scores.”
- “@Zorlya use search_jobs for remote roles and tell me which two fit my resume best.”
If it does not connect
- Your workspace blocks custom servers. OpenAI says policies can restrict this. Ask a workspace admin.
- The sign-in fails at the redirect. OpenAI’s authentication page says ChatGPT uses a redirect on
chatgpt.com, either the stablehttps://chatgpt.com/connector_platform_oauth_redirector one that ends in a callback id. Zorlya’s list has the stable address, and ChatGPT registers itself by dynamic registration, so this should work. The owner still has to check once that ChatGPT sends exactly the address in the list. We did not try it. - Your Zorlya account is not approved. The Connect page needs an approved account. A job seeker account on Free or Plus is also refused, because AI client access needs Pro.
What we checked
The steps come from OpenAI’s documentation, read on 2026-10-17. The connection to Zorlya was not tried in ChatGPT. We could not read OpenAI’s help article on developer mode and custom MCP servers, so plans, the developer mode setting and the authentication options are not confirmed. OpenAI’s authentication page says ChatGPT supports dynamic client registration and uses S256 PKCE, and Zorlya offers both.
