# How Zorlya reads sources.

> What ZorlyaBot is, how it reads public job postings and careers pages, what Zorlya keeps, and how to ask us to stop or to correct a listing.

Source: https://zorlya.com/sources

Zorlya reads public job postings from 130+ sources so that job seekers can find them in one place. This page says how it reads, what it keeps and how to ask it to stop.

**For job seekers.** Each role in the app shows where it came from and links back to the original posting.

The reader

## What ZorlyaBot is.

ZorlyaBot is the crawler Zorlya runs to read public job postings and employers' careers pages. Every request it makes carries this user agent:

`ZorlyaBot/1.0 (+https://zorlya.com/sources)`

How it reads

## Public pages, politely.

- It reads public pages only. It never signs in.
- It reads the site's `robots.txt` first and follows it.
- It reads each site's terms, and a site whose terms forbid automated reading is left out.
- It makes one request at a time to a site, and never more than one a second.
- It never works around a 403, a 429, a captcha or a bot challenge. A refusal ends the visit.

What it keeps

## Only what a listing needs.

Where a site's terms do not license republishing its postings, Zorlya stores only the title, the employer, the place, the date and the link. Every role links back to the original posting, so the posting itself stays on the site that published it.

Stop or correct

## Ask us to stop, or to fix a listing.

Write to support@zorlya.com and name the site or the listing. A request to stop reading is honoured at once. A request to correct a listing is answered within two working days.

You can also tell ZorlyaBot directly in your `robots.txt`:

```
User-agent: ZorlyaBot
Disallow: /
```
