The ATS check compares the skills one job posting lists with the skills on your Zorlya profile and shows which are present and which are missing. It runs inside the app on a job you open, uses no AI model and is free on every plan.

Many people search for an ATS resume checker. The [free resume checker](/resume-checker) on the website reads one file with no job and no account. This check works differently: it compares skills against one posting, inside the app. It has no review of layout, fonts, headings or file format, and it does not simulate any tracking system.

## Run the check

1. Sign in, upload your resume and open **Jobs**. [Create your account and upload a resume](/guides/getting-started/create-your-account-and-upload-a-resume) has the steps.
2. Select a job.
3. In the tools bar, select **ATS check**.
4. Read the result. The check runs by itself, and **Run again** repeats it.

## Read the result

- The ring and headline show a score, for example "75 out of 100 on keywords", and a line such as "3 of 4 listed skills found in your resume".
- **Found** lists the posting's skills that are on your profile.
- **Missing** lists the skills that are not. Missing means the word is not on your profile. If you have the skill, add it in your own words.
- "All required skills matched." appears when nothing is missing.

Skills are compared in a standard form, so React.js meets React.

## Act on it

- Select **Fix in the resume editor** to add a skill you really have.
- Select **Tailor for this job** to have Zorlya rewrite wording for this posting. That tool uses your monthly allowance.
- Do not add a skill you do not have.

## If the result looks wrong

- **Score 100 and empty lists.** The posting lists no skills Zorlya can read, so there is nothing to compare. Read the lists, not the score.
- **The check failed.** Open **Resume**, check that the file was read, then run it again.
- **A skill you have shows as missing.** Add it to your profile under **Profile, Edit**, or to the resume, and run the check again.
