Updated 2026-10-25.

To connect Claude Code to Zorlya, run `claude mcp add --transport http zorlya https://mcp.zorlya.com`, then run `/mcp` inside Claude Code and sign in through your browser. There is no API key. Zorlya's server accepts HTTP connections with OAuth sign in.

## What you need

- Claude Code installed.
- A Zorlya account that has been approved. A job seeker account needs the Pro plan, because AI client access is part of Pro.
- A browser on the same machine. If there is none, see the note below.

## Add the server

1. Run this in your terminal:

   ```bash
   claude mcp add --transport http zorlya https://mcp.zorlya.com
   ```

2. Start Claude Code and run:

   ```text
   /mcp
   ```

3. Choose `zorlya` and follow the browser login. On Zorlya's Connect page, choose the account and the permission level (Read only is the default), then sign in with your Zorlya account. [What you approve when you connect](/guides/ai-clients/what-you-approve-when-you-connect) describes the steps.

You can also sign in from the shell with `claude mcp login zorlya`. Claude Code's documentation says it prints the authorization URL when no local browser is available, and `--no-browser` forces that prompt.

By default the server is stored for you in the `local` scope, in `~/.claude.json` under the project path. Add `--scope user` to use it in every project, or `--scope project` to write it to `.mcp.json` so your team shares it.

If you prefer a config file, an entry in `.mcp.json` looks like this. Claude Code's documentation warns that an entry with a `url` and no `type` is read as a stdio server and is an error.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "zorlya": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.zorlya.com"
    }
  }
}
```

## What you should see

Run `/mcp` again. The `zorlya` entry shows `Connected`. Before you sign in it shows `! Needs authentication`. `claude mcp list` also lists it. Use "Clear authentication" in the `/mcp` menu to revoke access, and `claude mcp remove zorlya` to delete the server and its stored tokens.

Claude Code marks a server as needing authentication when it answers `401 Unauthorized`, and Zorlya does that for a call without a token.

## Try it

- "Call the Zorlya top_matches tool and list my 5 best jobs with their scores."
- "Use search_jobs to find remote roles, then track_application for the one I pick." The second step needs the Read and change level.

## If it does not connect

1. **The browser redirect fails after you sign in.** Claude Code's documentation says to paste the full callback URL from the browser's address bar into the URL prompt that appears in Claude Code. The callback is a `localhost` or `127.0.0.1` address with `/callback` as the path, which is the address Zorlya's list allows for Claude Code.
2. **The entry has no `type`.** In `.mcp.json`, set `"type": "http"`.
3. **Your account is not approved, or the sign-in expired.** Zorlya access tokens last 1 hour and refresh tokens 30 days, and Claude Code refreshes them. If it cannot, run `/mcp` and sign in again.

## What we checked

The steps come from Claude Code's documentation, read on 2026-10-17. The connection to Zorlya was not tried in Claude Code. One page we read was cut off after 100,000 of 123,186 characters, so a few details at the end of it were not read. Claude Code's documentation says it supports dynamic client registration, which Zorlya offers, and a `localhost` callback, which Zorlya accepts.
