# A new look for every Zorlya email

> Every email Zorlya sends now uses one shared layout, with the logo at the top left, a short heading, one button and a footer that says why you got the message. Security notices keep their line about what to do if it was not you. The only thing an email loads from the web is the logo.

Zorlya sends more than 50 kinds of email: sign-in codes, password resets, job alerts, weekly summaries, support replies and more. They were written at different times and did not look alike. They now share one layout, and this post describes what you will see and what has not changed.

## What you will see

Every email now follows the same plan from top to bottom:

- **The Zorlya logo at the top left.** For some emails a small label sits at the top right, such as Support, Staff, Mail or Hiring, so you can tell which part of Zorlya sent it.
- **A heading.** It says in a few words what the email is about.
- **The message.** Short paragraphs, in the type size most mail apps show well. Where an email lists details, they appear as label and value rows.
- **One button**, when there is something to do, such as Reset password. The button is 48 pixels tall, and on a phone it runs the full width, so it is easy to tap.
- **A line under the button** with the link written out in plain text. If the button does not work in your mail app, you can copy the link.
- **A footer** that says why you received the email, for example that you turned on the weekly summary. Where it makes sense, the footer ends with a link to change the setting.

The column is 600 pixels wide on a computer and fills the screen on a phone. In a dark theme the email swaps to a second logo made for dark backgrounds. We have not yet tested that logo in every mail app. A mail app that darkens colours by itself and ignores the dark theme setting keeps the light logo.

## Security notices keep their "not you" path

Some emails tell you that something changed on your account: a passkey was added, a sign-in method was linked, or an AI app was connected. These keep the same last lines they had before:

- For a new passkey or a linked sign-in method, the email says that if it was not you, you should reset your password now, and it carries the link to do that.
- For a connected AI app, it says that if it was not you, you should disconnect it, with a link to the connections page.
- For a password reset or a sign-in code, it says that if you did not ask for it, you can ignore the email, and nothing happens without the code or the link.

We changed how these look. We did not change what they tell you to do. If you get a security email and you do not recognise the action, go to Zorlya yourself by typing the address into your browser, instead of using a link in any email, then change your password.

## What an email loads, and where its links go

The logo is the only thing an email loads from the web. There are no other images, no fonts and no scripts. The logo comes from zorlya.com, in two files, one for a light theme and one for a dark one.

Every address in a button or a link is written out in full and starts with https. A link that is not a web address is removed before the email is sent, so an email cannot carry a link that runs code.

## Plain text version

Each email also has a plain text version, for mail apps that do not show formatted mail and for people who prefer it. It carries the same words in the same order. The heading is in capital letters, rows read as Label followed by the value, and a button becomes its label with the address after it. Lines are short so they read well on a narrow screen.

## What has not changed

The layout changed, not the purpose of each email. The daily and weekly emails still go out only when there is something to show, and you still choose them in your settings.

## If something looks wrong

Tell us which email and which mail app you used, and we will look. Different mail apps draw email differently, and some of them, such as older desktop programs, are hard to design for. The plain text version is always there as a fallback. You can send a report through the contact page at zorlya.com/contact.
